Intermediate stands

After completing the rolling steps in the roughing stand, the metal enters the double-rolled stands, the number of which is determined depending on the type and dimensions of the output section and the type of calibration. Also, their arrangement can be designed as continuous and sinusoidal (interlocked) depending on the customer’s order, production hall restrictions and other factors. Each of the intermediate stands is usually responsible for one stage of rolling operation, which depends on the dimensions of the inlet metal cross section, metal temperature in that stage, calibration type and length of the metal, its elements including roller dimensions (length, barrel diameter), dimensions and the type of bearings, material and dimensions of the body, actuator system and other related elements are designed and executed. The mechanism of movement of the rollers in the direction of z and x axes, conductor tables and metal conductors, bearings and related accessories and restraint shafts are other components of two-roller stands.
